From Disney Paris: Top 8 Food Allergy Friendly Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Disneyland Paris Mickey Chocolate Chip cookie recipe Food Allergy Friendly

From Disney Paris: Top 8 Food Allergy Friendly Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

There’s something extra special about finding Magic where you least expect it, especially as a family navigating food allergies in France!

Our trip to Disneyland Paris is already filled with excitement & as always, we come prepared:

  • with safe for us food allergy-friendly snacks and meals in our “handy dandy backpack cooler
  • our translation cards from Equal Eats in hand (our code AnEasyJourney will save you 10% & we greatly appreciate your support!)
  • Emailing in advance about ingredients & preparation/cross contact etc…

Always hopeful that we are able to find safe for our specific food allergies Disney snacks & meals.

However, with our many anaphylactic food allergies, we find Disneyland Paris to be very challenging!

Yes, even with the “allergy food boxes” Disney mentions.

To be honest, there was really only 1-2 safe options for us, & 1 is a pricey 100 euro per person lunch!

Full disclosure:

We eat from our safe foods from our backpack at the tables by the Dumbo ride (with others picnicking as well!) & eat a late lunch at the nearby out of Park Pret A Manger for 23 euros for both of us!  SO YUMMY!

Being able to check off my daughter’s dream of seeing Disneyland Paris will always be a great memory!

Food Allergy Friendly Mickey Chocolate Chip cookie recipe!
When we couldn’t eat the Disneyland Paris Mickey Chocolate Chip Cookie, they gave us their recipe to make safely at home!

And then it happened!

Tucked into a moment of kindness & pixie dust (my thoughts!) we are gifted Disneyland Paris’ Mickey shaped Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe!

Moments like this are priceless. And why we always advocate, ask & stay positive. We never know when a wonderful person will realize this is more than a chocolate chip recipe.

It’s about inclusion & being able to say “yes” to your child when most things always feel like a “no”.

This is about recreating a moment of Joy from a place that is Magical!

Always be a memory for my daughter Katie and myself of our Mother-Daughter trip to Disneyland Paris!

And now, every time we make these cookies, they will forever remind Katie and I of our unforgettable Mother-Daughter trip to France!

A Delicious Food Allergy Friendly Gift from Disneyland Paris

This is a recipe that is traveling home with us and made in our kitchen & most importantly, shared safely with all of you.

A yummy recipe that we are adapting here for our specific food allergies & you can too!

As a longtime food allergy family (24 years +), our anaphalactic food allergies are:

  • Peanuts
  • Tree Nuts (only cross contamination to peanuts)
  • Legumes
  • Shellfish
  • Soy &
  • Dairy & Meat Intolerances

So, while we can safely eat eggs, if this is 1 of your food allergies, use an egg replacer in our recipe. Also, gluten is ok for us but if you need to be #glutenfree suggest Better Batter as use for many family parties as others have gluten food allergies.

Not able to eat Disneyland Paris’ Chocolate Chip Cookies but can make them at home with our food allergy friendly recipe & you can too!

From Disney Paris: Top 8 Food Allergy Friendly Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Disneyland Paris provided this recipe that we adapted for most food allergies.
Prep Time10 minutes
Cook Time12 minutes
Resting Time1 hour 3 minutes
Total Time1 hour 25 minutes
Course: Dessert, Snack
Cuisine: American
Keyword: allergy-friendly, dessert, party
Servings: 8 people

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour Can be gluten free
  • 9 TBSP Butter EarthBalance Softened.
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg or use applesauce/egg replacer
  • 1 TSP Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Allergy-Friendly Chocolate Chips EnjoyLife or Guittard

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix the softened butter with both sugars until creamy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla and mix well.
  • In a medium bowl, sift together the flour and the salt.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to wet ingredients. Do not over mix!
  • Add chocolate chips and mix in gently with spoon.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rest in refrigerator at least 1 hour.
  • Pre-heat oven to 350F.
  • Roll out dough on a floured work surface to about 1/2 inch.
  • Cut out larger circles with round cookie cutter to make the Mickey heads. Then use smaller round cookie cutter for the ears. You need 2 ears for every 1 Mickey head.
  • Arrange on your baking sheet that has parchment paper, the heads making sure that you leave enough room for adding in the ears on both sides.
  • Add the 2 smaller ears onto the larger circle.
  • Gently glue/slightly press the small res to the Mickey heads. Using a tiny bit of water may help.
  • Bake for 12- 15 minutes until the edges are lightly golden. Allow to cool on baking sheet for 3 - 5 minutes. Then take them off baking sheet onto wire rack.
